Night Tour in Padirac




  July 25, 9 and 22 August, the first site of the underworld in France invites to explore the places in the same way as the one who discovered it in 1889, to 103 meters deep.
Back 125 years ago. Located in the department of Lot, in the Midi-Pyrenees, Padirac, the most famous in Europe, is considered one of the greatest geological curiosities of France. It was explored in 1889 by Édouard-Alfred Martel caver. Occasionally Nights Explorers 2014: in the footsteps of Martel, July 25, 9 and 22 August, the site offers to relive the conditions of his discovery.

 For two hours, with a lantern, a guide will tell the story of this adventure. The visitor will have to descend to 103 meters deep, before boarding the underground river for a boat ride to explore the room Rainy Lake with Great Chandelier - a stalactite 60 meters high, before moving on foot, Gours Great Lake (120 meters long) and finally the Grand Hall of the Dome, the Cathedral of the site with its vault 94 meters high.

 Each year, this huge well of 35 meters in diameter attracts 450,000 curious.

Visits begin after closing the site, home to 20:30.
Prices: 50 € for adults, € 40 for children ages 4 to 12, free for children under 4 years.
From 1 to 21 August 2014, Padirac is open from 8 am to 21:30.
